| Description of the problem | The fuel quantity indicator upon filling up the tank froze at one half a tank mark on the indicator. The next time the fuel tank was filled up on 5/3/2012, the tank indicator went from half a tank level reading to a empty tank reading when the tank was filled up. The low fuel light came on, as did the service the engine light came on and has stayed on ever since. Since the fuel quantity indicator now shows an empty tank, you could very easily think that you were going to run out of fuel, when in fact you have a full tank of fuel. To a driver who did not fill up the vehicle, this could lead to an attempt to fill up a tank that was already full. |
