Description of the problem	While driving in traffic on a dry, straight road at about 35mph, traffic started to slow for a red light. The brake pedal went to the floor with no resistance and had no effect on vehicle speed. Frantically pumping the brake pedal gradually increased brake pedal resistance. After gaining brake pedal resistance, the vehicle came to a screeching halt, activating abs and narrowly averting an accident. This has only occurred once, on 19 dec 2018 and, to date, has not reoccurred. We took the vehicle to the dealership and they were not able to reproduce the problem and sent us away with "no problem found at this time". Anecdotally, the dealership did mention another family that reported the same problem and they declared it a fluke because it has not reoccurred. The problem here is that if it does reoccur, it's quite possible neither myself nor my family will be around to report it. Continuing to drive with a strategy of hope that this does not reoccur seems a poor strategy considering the risk to my family and others on the road. At least this is a documented data point if anyone else has experienced this.
