Description of the problem	On the morning of november 7, 2017, the front/sliding portion of the sunroof on my 2015 nissan murano spontaneously exploded while i was driving down i-5 in seattle, wa, at the posted speed (60 mph). The sound of the explosion was deafening (i thought that a gunshot had been fired at my vehicle, and/or i had had a catastrophic tire blowout). Luckily the retractable fabric "shield" between the sunroof and the interior of the vehicle was deployed, and the shattered glass did not fall on me. I was able to pull off the freeway and prevent large chunks of glass from flying into on-coming traffic. I subsequently reported this incident to my insurance company, and the sunroof was replaced by my insurer (the cost of the replacement glass was approximately $1500; i paid a $250 deductible, and the insurance company paid the rest).
