Description of the problem	While attempting to stop from an approximate 30 miles per hour speed, the brake petal travelled nearly all the way to the floor board. The vehicle did eventually slow to a stop but not until i nearly struck the car in front of me. After that, the problem was intermittent. I brought the car to my mechanic who checked the master cylinder and determined the the problem was a defective abs control module. I have seen recalls for defective abs on murano model years up to 2009 and then again after 2015. However, my 2011 model year falls in the "recall gap" and is not covered. Although abs problems for the 2011 murano are documented on multiple internet websites, nissan has not issued an additional recall covering the other model years such as mine. So the expensive repair costs and responsibility for accidents and injuries fall upon the unsuspecting owners of the defective vehicles. Nissan should immediately issue a recall and get the dangerous condition repaired before others find themselves without the ability to safely stop their cars.
