| Description of the problem | The brake pedal falls to the floor when depressed rapidly. This is only occasionally, however when it happened last. I stopped the vehicle and tapped the abs brake actuator unit with a rubber mallet and brakes were fine.. I believe the abs valve is defective but the dealer said that the master cylinder is defective & needs to replaced for $800+. They also said if that doesn't cure it, then the brake vacuum booster is also defective and it would cost me $3000! So, they were unable to perform the recall that changes the brake fluid from dot3 to dot 4. |
