| Description of the problem | While driving the vehicle routinely in town, suddenly the brake pedal became very soft and braking ability was severely impaired. Pedal travel was very high, with pedal almost to the floor before braking could be obtained, and braking power was very low. Vehicle was successfully stopped, and turned off. The brake pedal was pumped with the vehicle turned off, and brake pressure returned. Restarted vehicle and braking system appeared to operate normally. This is the second incident of braking problems with this particular vehicle. See report 1072367 for details of a prior braking failure approximately 1 year earlier. |
