Description of the problem	When driving in rush hour traffic the vehicle in front of me rapidly slowed, causing me to need to brake rapidly as well. Upon applying my brakes, they engaged and then instantly released and the pedal went to the floor where the brakes finally reengaged, allowing me to slow. Had i not been several car lengths back, i would not have been able to stop. Once this occurred, each time i had to brake, the brakes would perform a little better, but remained spongy. Once i was able to come to a stop, i pumped the brakes a couple of times and they worked properly from that point on. Upon checking the vehicle, the brake fluid and brakes were all in good shape and there was no immediate explanation for the problem. Based on internet research, however, this appears to be the problem that is currently being investigated.
