Description of the problemBoth fobs (car keys) went bad on my 2009 nissan murano, unable to lock and open doors using the fob. I had to remove the key from the fob to unlock the doors. At night this was a safety issue as i had to struggle to take the key out of the case in the dark. Replaced batteries in the fob and did not resolve the issue. On january 22, 2014 i mailed a letter to nissan of america asking for reimbursement of the new fob i had to purchase. Nissan was unable to offer financial assistance with the replacement of the fob as the vehicle being outside of the new vehicle limited warranty. As i expressed my concern to nissan that a car key should never have to be replaced. These fobs are manufacturing defects i understand replacing a battery but not the entire fob. The cost of one fob was $239. 61.
