| Description of the problem | 2007 nissan murano drivers sunvisor does not remain in retracted (stowed) position. Sunvisor rotates about pivot rod due to road vibration and completely blocks drivers view. This is extremely dangerous and is exacerbated with night time driving or in bad weather. This appears to be a defect in design of the sunvisor retract cam mechanism. The sunvisor unit cannot be repaired, it must be replaced and is prohibitively expensive. Nissan has been contacted directly and refuses to replace the component. An internet search has revealed many similar failures in multiple model years and 116 reports are on file with nhtsa as of this writing. This should be the subject of a safety recall before someone is killed by these defective sunvisors. |
