| Description of the problem | Driving on a slick highway the rearend of the murano was fishtailing. The rear suspension was making noises, and the steering wheel was suddenly way off center. I took it to a local mechanic to inspect. It was noted the the rear swaybar had separated from the rear crossmember /subframe and the subframe was rusted and cracked and rusted through to failure. The vehicle was deemed unsafe to drive, and was told to immediately stop driving it. The rear wheels were tilted outward and a big safety hazard. Subframe near total separation from vehicle. Murano is now a total loss. Cost to repair too extensive. |
