Description of the problemI have a 2007 nissan murano that we purchase a few months ago. When the vehicle is in reverse and the brake pedal is applied, there is a horrible squeaking/whistling/grinding noise that occurs. I have taken the car to the dealer 4 times and they consistently state they are working on a solution but nissan does not know what is really wrong with them and only offer a suggestive change in brake pads and using a special grease to lessen the noise for a few days. They eventually changed out the rotors on the last trip a couple weeks ago and told us the problem nissan states is there was a change in the "nissan brake pads" and there is to much metallic in the pads now which is causing the noise. Since that visit, we have taken the vehicle to another repair shop and had and "after-market brake pad" placed on the car since nissan states is was only a problem with their make of brake pad. We very quickly learned this was not true! The noise and grinding is worse. It has even become noticeable anytime you apply the brakes and the brakes do not feel like they are grabbing correctly. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle and do not think we should have to pay $40k for a car and not have security with the braking system. I think the dealers should replace the vehicles before someone gets hurt or killed due to the brake failure.
