Description of the problem	Both screws holding tailgate latch to vehicle frame failed in >20k miles leaving tailgate secured by > 1/4" of plastic interior trim which is secured by 3 plastic snap connectors. Failed screws were connected to threaded metal base in enclosed box frame member. Only fix was to cut box, recover base and re-attach screws and weld cover over cut.
