Description of the problemMy nissan murano 2006 driver seat started rocking last week. I took it to the dealership today and found that the left seat track needs to be replaced. The part cost is $1118. 90 and with labor, it'll cost over $1400. I found this issue in the "defect investigation" for my vehicle that was opened in 2009 and closed in 2010. According to the report, this was not found to be a safety issue. I've also noticed many (very many) complaints online regarding this issue. I asked the dealership today what happens if i don't get it fixed and if there's an urgency. He said that if i don't get it fixed, the other track may break as well. And if this happened while i was driving, the whole seat could flip backwards. I don't understand why with so many complaints and obviously a safety concern, this has not been made more serious. Why knowing there's a defect, a recall has not been put on this issue and why the manufacturer has not done their part to address this defect. Please reconsider opening an investigation. Not many people have $1400 to put down on a "seat" issue that should've been addressed by the manufacturer in the first place. Thanks! *js
