| Description of the problem | The left side of the driver seat frame has detached from the car floor mount as of approximately four months ago; since then, the severity of the detachment has increased and the seat moves up and down. I have been advised by a local mechanic and nissan that welding the seat frame to the floor frame will only temporarily fix the issue. Nissan states a new frame is required ($1,200 + labor). Not having my seat correctly attached to the car presents a safety hazard in the event of an auto accident. The frame has detached based on normal wear and tear; there was no abnormal use, in fact the car only has 110,409 miles. Nissan states this is not under warranty or recall. I do not feel i should have to pay ($1,200 + labor) to remedy given the potential safety hazard (if an accident occurs). |
