| Description of the problem | As i was driving my vehicle on the highway the seat made a popping noise and collapsed toward the driver side door which in turn also forced my body to lean into the door and caused me to momentarily jerk the steering wheel barely avoiding a collision. The seat is now broken and forces you to sit leaning into the door as there is no longer any support. Every time i turn or if i come to a quick stop the seat bounces like a rubber band making it difficult to safely control the vehicle. I can not imagine that this is a safe way to drive a vehicle and i would like to think it is not the way that the manufacturer tested or intended the vehicle to be operated. I've done a lot of research on the issue and found that the faulty bracket is extremely common in all the 2003-2008 nissan muranos. I also found that nissan makes a bracket that is much more sturdy and they charge you almost $1000 for the repair. This sounds like they are knowingly allowing their faulty and hazardous parts to be installed at the assembly line instead of using the upgraded bracket that is one solid piece of metal. This should be recalled immediately to avoid any further potential hazards. |
