Description of the problem	While temporarily stopped, there was a loud pop from under the driver's seat and the left side of the driver's seat dropped with the driver still seated in it. The seat is now loose and rocks back a forth as the seat support frame attaching the seat to the floor has broken. We are 1,700 miles from home and are faced with a long drive home with a dangerously loose and partially detached seat. We had been driving on very smooth roads in a normal manner and nothing has occurred that might cause the failure of a seat support system. In several million miles of driving, this is the first seat support failure i've ever witnessed, but a quick search on the internet indicates this is an all too common failure for this particular make, model and year car.
