| Description of the problem | While driving at approximately 50 mph, while reaching for the radio, i heard a cracking noise under my seat. Something broke loose and me and the seat were thrust violently towards the right! Luckily, i did not lose control of the vehicle, but it would have been very easy to as the seat breaking was an unexpected shock. The seat now rocks side to side and has become unstable. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Dealer repaired it the first time and the service tech was aware this problem existed on this model! In a collision, the seat will most definitely break free and launch the driver (and seat) either into the dashboard or towards the rear of the vehicle. This is an extremely dangerous defect and will inevitably cause fatalities. |
