| Description of the problem | The driver seat on my 2005 nissan murano broke for no reason on the mount that attaches it to the floor causing the entire seat to sway when accelerating and making turns. The vehicle has only 65000 miles and in spite of it being past the warranty period, i believe that the manufacturer should be responsible for defective merchandise that are design-related and pertaining to safety. The local dealership won't repair it since nissan corporation declined to pay for it. They however insist that i get the entire seat frame replaced at a cost of approximately $1200 dollars. The local dealership has received 3 cases just like this and only one of them was accepted by nissan. I don't know what my rights are in this case but a defective seat is different from other moving parts on the vehicle that wear with time. |
