Description of the problem	I would like to report a safety issue with my 2005 nissan murano. Around june 1, 2010 i started experiencing an intermittent problem with the power door lock on the front passenger door. At this time the power locking actuator has completely stopped working and the door has to be locked or unlocked manually. Failure of the locking mechanism can lead to the door opening at an undesired time causing injury or death to passengers in the vehicle. This is the reason for my report to the nhtsa. After researching the issue on the internet i found this is a common problem with these vehicles. I feel, as do other people i have spoken to regarding this problem that nissan should be held responsible for repair of the issue if in fact it is a common problem due to a parts defect. I am having the inoperative lock replaced but have found out in many instances all the doors at one time experience this problem.
