Description of the problem	In 2006 we received a recall letter about nissan having problems with the fuel tank. We had the protection guard installed by nissan as per nhtsa recall. In april 2011 we were driving on highway and hit something small in the road that punctured the fuel tank. The item was so small no one in the car saw it. The protective shielding, which was a thin piece of plastic, shattered and failed to protect the tank.
