| Description of the problem | Fuel tank protector 2004 murano: there was a recall on my vehicle and a plastic fuel tank protector was added. This repair reduces the ground clearance and the has broken twice on my 2004 murano. Any road debris is likely to hit this low point on the vehicle. The manufacturer should inspect these regularly or come up with a better fix. One can guess that there are vehicles that had the protector added and that protector has subsequently been broken and fallen off. I did call 1-800-nissan1 to request reimbursement for the failed protector and the company kindly agreed to make the reimbursement. Further, santa barbara nissan agreed to install the protector free of charge. |
