Description of the problem	I have a 2007 nissan frontier with 41000 miles on it. At 39000 miles the fuel gauge started malfunctioning and the check engine light came on. When i fill up with gasoline, the fuel gauge remains at empty with the empty gas tank light on. Occasionally the gauge kicks up but dies down again. On 9/9/09 i took the car to the nissan dealership and they diagnosed the problem as fuel gauge sensor needs replacement. They wanted over $500 fix the problem. I have seen a lot of complains on the internet about this and so i called nissan consumer affairs and they promised to look into a "goodwill" repair of the problem. However they called me today to say they will not pay for the part to be replaced. This problem, i never know how much fuel i have in the tank and i just keep filling it up every couple of days. I am afraid the gasoline will ran out when on the roadside and put me and my family in danger of an accident or burglary or worse.
