| Description of the problem | Traveling along hwy 209 in bigfork, mt, i noticed my gas gauge needle drop from 1/2 tank to below zero and immediately the fuel light came on along with the check engine light. A mile down the road and the engine stalled and had to make an emergency pull-over with my two young children in the car. Thankfully, the traffic was light that day, i was able to pull over safely, and i had cell service. I called my husband and let him know what happened. He brought gas and, sure enough, the truck started once again, but did not register fuel again until i filled the tank completely. It continues to repeat this cycle where it will register until a certain fuel level and then the needle will dive to below empty. |
