Description of the problem	2006 nissan frontier's fuel gauge is sporadic. It will read 1/4 tank and then suddenly drop to empty and the low fuel light comes on. After filling, it may take an hours for the gauge to read full. Shortly after the problem started the service engine soon light came on. Computer error says error po463 fuel level sensor circuit high input probable cause: this is a safety issue. From nhtsa campaign #10v075000: "this could cause the vehicle to run out of gas and stall in traffic increasing the risk of a crash". Nissan dealer service tech. Told me this a big issue with many more vehicles than the recall (nhtsa camp. #10v075000) covers. I contacted nissan to ask if they planned to expand the recall. They said no and declined to assist with even the part for the 500 part. From looking at numerous forums and this site. I can see that the are many owners in the same situation--a defective gauge and their vehicle not covered by the current recall(s). I don't know the statistics on what it takes to trigger an expanded recall but i hope nhtsa looks into it.
