Description of the problemNissan frontier 2006 all have a common defective part, the fuel level sensor. I have this truck and at approximately 43,000 miles, the sensor went out giving me the "service engine soon", code number p0463. The nissan dealer said it would $350 to replace, at my expense. After further research in internet forums, this is a common defect with all 2006 frontiers with the sensor going out at approx 42,000-43,000 miles. The fuel gauge no longer functions, leaving the owner not knowing how full the fuel tank is. There are post on various forums of drivers being stranded with an empty tank due to this defective part. Nissan has recalled some of the vehicles for this defect but when i advised nissan customer service that my truck had the same defect, i was told that my vin was not part of the recall. It is clear that the recall needs to be broadened to all vehicles produced in that year.
