| Description of the problem | Fuel gauge began to malfunction, showing and improper amount of fuel in the tank. Check engine light stays on. Fuel gauge registers incorrect level after fueling up the vehicle. I have ran out of gas on one occasion due to this. I was on the side of a busy interstate with my 6 yr old and had to cross the interstate to get assistance. This is a safety concern. Nissan tells me that my vehicle is not included in the recall and if i want to repair the vehicle it will be at my own expense. This is a widespread problem with nissan fuel sending units on the frontier and should be fixed in a nationwide recall, not a vin specific recall. The product is faulty. Nissan and nhtsa should both be ashamed for not putting out a nationwide recall. |
