Description of the problem	Fuel gauge inaccuracy - nissan chose not to include model year 2005 frontiers in a voluntary safety recall campaign that was issued on 2006 and 2008 frontier, xterra and pathfinder vehicles (campaign id# pc 042). In the alternative, nissan extended the warranty of 2005 models from 36 to 72 months. My 2005 vehicle is now exhibiting the condition the condition wherein the fuel gage reads one quarter tank, when the tank is actually empty. This resulted in an out of fuel incident occurring on the highway, a near accident and subsequently being stranded awaiting roadside assistance. Although my vehicle only has 41,000 miles - it has been 78 months since purchase and nissan is denying my request for coverage of the repair cost. Had nissan rightly informed me of the condition via inclusion in the recall campaign - i would have had the defective fuel sending unit replaced immediately. Instead i am being forced to cover the cost of repair for this safety defect. I therefore am requesting reimbursement for my related expenses.
