Description of the problemOn my 2005 nissan frontier truck the "service engine soon" lights comes on and the fuel gauge does not read the correct fuel level. One cannot tell how many miles are left in driving on the tank of fuel due to improper reports by the on-board computer along with the improper reading on the fuel gauge, creating a hazardous condition for travel, especially during night driving and in mountain pass conditions in winter. Diagnostics indicate a faulty fuel sensor, but nissan refuses to replace as the current recall only goes to 72k miles. This problem started past 81k miles on my vehicle. It is apparent this problem is systemic and a real issue that nissan is hard-bent on not covering, if they don't have to. They told me there was nothing they would do as my truck has too many miles on it. I advised them that they should cover the issue, given its quite apparent there is a systemic problem at hand. The nissan representative told me there was nothing they could do as the recall does not extend that far out and they are not required to fix it, i believe they should be made to fix the problem.
