Description of the problemWhile driving to store, noticed a bang in rear of truck, did not think much of it since i haul my tools in bed of truck. Until i got to the job site and realized that the passenger rear leaf spring was protruding through the bed of the truck. The shackle had stretched off its mounting bolt, and the driver side was about to. Immediately i took the truck to the dealer and they stated that they would contact the manufacturer of vehicle and call me back. After several days and lost pay, the manufacturer said they would not honor the warranty because of the recently purchased air bags(2-3 weeks previous) i had added. I added because with my tool boxes loaded, my headlights would shine in other drivers eyes and truck would roll in corners. After several days of no pay i had to order a new set of rear shackles. Upon my surprise you can see a difference in the new shackles and the originals with additional welds. They blame the air bags. I thank god i had them on. I had unloaded all tools/boxes from truck and had all weighed with me and my helper 920 lbs. With cap 1070 lbs for a truck whose payload is 1400 lbs. I also have photos/video of all items removed including the removal and installation of new parts. Took new and old shackles to dealership service manager and he stated that he could see a difference. Out of 7 areas to weld on the o4 and o5 time-stamped shackles only 3 are done. And on the o6 time-stamped shackle 6 of the 7 are done. I am currently driving vehicle with one o5 and one o6 shackle. Waiting to here from some one that could help me with potentially fatal quality control issue. *nm
