Description of the problem	Driving on a crowded freeway in houston. The brake light came on. When a slow down was attempted, the brakes made a loud noise and the pedal was soft. Braking effectiveness was severely reduced. We were able to control the vehicle, pull off the freeway and stop. Once stopped, we turned off the car and then restarted it. Once restarted, the problem was resolved. This is approximately the 5th time that the same has happened. Other times, have happened rarely, several months apart. Upon calling nissan, they suggested that the brake booster needed to be replaced, but not for certain.
