Description of the problemMy wife has experienced our nissan 06 armada losing braking power. It first started about a year ago and she didn't say anything because she thought it was just a brake issue. Have had it to a brake shop on several occasions and have found nothing wrong. It has happened to me twice this week. I then went on a nissan forum and other internet sites to see that hundreds of people have had the same issue with nissan armada brake/abs issues. This is a major concern for us as an owner and should be to anyone reading this post. The brake light comes on while braking and it comes out of now where.. I was on a flat surface heading to a red light... The abs kicked in and the braking power went to about 30 %. The brake pedal was only engaged about 1/3 of the distance and grinding started and continue till i came to a stop i had to manually shift down in order to stop at the red light. I set my flashers, turned the ignition off and got out.. Didn't see or sense anything out of the ordinary other than i had very little braking power and brakes were grinding.. Turned the car back on and the lights went off and the brakes worked fine. I know the pads and rotors are good, just had them checked on my state inspection. This is alarming because this is my wife's car and she drivers our kids around in it... Something needs to be done to keep this incident from becoming something much worse... I sense it is a sensor issue or something to do with that because it comes out of no where while braking.
