Description of the problemMy son was driving home one night (20 mph) and slowed to make a turn and the brake light came on, there was a clunking noise, and the brakes did not work. He left me a note telling me not to drive the car in the morning - "something seriously wrong with the brakes". When my husband went to check it in the morning there was nothing wrong with brakes. We thought he was crazy. Two weeks later i was pulling into parking lot (2mph), the brake light came on, clunking noise, brakes did not work. After doing some research online and reading these complaints and seeing that once you restart the car the problem goes away, i went out to start the car and everything worked fine. Now 2 weeks later, backing out of the driveway last night, brake light came on, clunking noise and brakes did not work. I have contacted the dealer who sold me the car and he was unaware of any problems. I called a district manager at carmax and he, too, was unaware of the problem. Happening 3 times in 5 weeks is unacceptable. I can not let my children drive the car. I am scared to drive on the highway. Can't believe nissan won't recognize the problem. I may get an attorney. Class action?
