Description of the problemIn the most recent incident, i was driving the vehicle at slow speed (approx. 10 mph). When brake pedal was depressed, it went to the floor and the nose of the vehicle dove down. Front brakes made a loud banging sound and vibration could be felt in vehicle cabin. There was a considerable reduction in brake performance, to the point of failure. Brake light in vehicle illuminated as well. These same symptoms have occurred at various speeds, under various driving conditions more than a dozen times over a period of one year. Vehicle was taken into local dealer today and a full description of the problem was provided. Dealer re-programmed vdc (code 1179) at a cost to me, but would not guarantee this would permanently fix the problem. If problem persists, dealer recommends delt stroke sensor/brake booster replacement at considerable cost to me. At higher speeds, this condition could be deadly.
