Description of the problem	The vehicle shifter assembly will not allow the vehicle to be shifted from park to reverse or drive. Once the vehicle is moving it operates normally. If an operator puts the vehicle in park, this defect is repeated, however now drivers will be reluctant to put the vehicle in park, thus resulting in circumstances where the vehicle may unintentionally roll forward setting up the possibility of pedestrian death/injury or property damage resulting in the vehicle rolling forward if the brake is not constantly engaged. I am sending a scanned copy of an alert from nissan that acknowledges that they are aware of transmission defects, i believe what i have described above is an extension of that defect and that there is a dangerous situation because of that defect.
