| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2016 nissan altima. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the vehicle shifted to first gear without warning. The contact managed to veer to the shoulder of the road turned the vehicle off and waited for about 5 min to see if the vehicle would then resume normal operation. The vehicle failed to perform as intended. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken for a second opinion at another dealer however, it was confirmed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.
