| Description of the problem | My son was driving my wife's 2015 nissan altima down the driveway(approximately 20 mph) when the rear left suspension broke. He continued to drive it slowly for another mile along the side of the road having, difficulty steering, and hoping to make it to the nearby mechanic. He stopped after a mile and called me. I was able to see the driver side rear suspension arm was broke and the tire was angled.(the passenger side was severly corroded also) the vehicle was towed to the mechanic and he filed warrantee information. The warrantee was denied because it was a corrosion issue. I am grateful this did not happen on the highway!!! If it is hard to steer a vehicle at 20 mph, what would happen at 75 mph. How is this not a safety problem? A main suspension arm rusting out in less than 5 years, and known common problem in northern climates?? |
