Description of the problem	My car started "sputtering" and shutting off when in motion or coming to a stop. The car then started to rev the engine between 2-3rpm when i was driving at a constant speed. When i was driving on a major highway, the car revved past 4rpm and completely shut off without warning. I was luckily able to stop the car, but no one should ever have to endure that dangerous and potentially catastrophic event. I took my car to the nissan dealer and they said that my transmission needed to be replaced. It is apparent that nissan had knowingly sold cars with faulty transmissions that would fail far before an acceptable time with many consumers facing the high cost of repairing the transmission. As i was hoping this was a one-off situation and that no one else experienced this, but it looks like this is a frequent complaint for the nissan altima 2014. Nissan should be held responsible for the transmission replacement and extend their power train warranty to 120,000 miles or 10 years as they have for their car models from 2003-2010.
