| Description of the problem | Vehicle was at dealer for oil change, service advised that "recall" campaign pc4900 reprogram transmission control module was performed. After driving the car for 6 days and 447 miles, it died while sitting completely still, idling in traffic (in "drive"). The vehicle shuddered so violently when it died, i thought that i had been rear-ended. The vehicle would restart but died immediately upon any attempt to shift into reverse or drive. Had it towed back to the dealer, diagnosis was torque converter failure. Total transmission replacement. Never had any mechanical issues with this car until now. |
