Description of the problem on january 14th 2019 while driving 30mph, the rear control arm on the altima failed and made the car un-drive-able, the rear end of the car fell to the ground. Luckily there was no injury as a result of this failure. The car was taken to a local mechanic who diagnosed the control arm failed due to corrosion, and i had the car towed to herb chambers nissan in westborough ma. It was in their service area from 1/15/2019 - 1/7/2019. This is a very dangerous safety issue, components such as control arms that affect a person's ability to control a car should not be corroding let alone failing in 6 years. Nissan needs to recall cars with this problem and deal with the manufacturer of the part/metal supplier. The issue is same as the one in the nhtsa investigation: rear suspension control arm failure nhtsa action number: pe18013
