Description of the problem	The vehicle has around 57,500 miles, was bought certified pre-owned at a nissan dealership in 2016, and has only been serviced by a nissan dealership since purchase. The vehicle failed to properly accelerate after a stoplight. The vehicle was stopped at this light and could only accelerate to about 12 mph afterwards regardless of how hard i pushed the gas pedal. I tried stopping and shifting to park then back to drive, yet the problem persisted. This is incredibly dangerous as it happened without warning. No lights came on and no alerts populated on my dashboard screen. This has happened multiple times before, and it seems to be a common problem among altima owners. This seems to result from a defective continuously variable transmission (cvt), and the failure to properly accelerate will eventually lead to complete transmission failure. Hopefully, this will not happen when i am on a busy road or interstate as this is immensely dangerous and possibly fatal.
