| Description of the problem | Transmission hard downshift when stopping or in slow traffic. Vehicle surges almost "leaps" forward while at a stop when foot taken off of brake pedal. Almost hit vehicle in front. Another mountaineer owner refers to it as a "bump stop". This occurs daily although not every time the vehicle stops or slows. The is very unnerving in stop & go traffic as you have to keep your foot on the brake and leave a large space between the vehicle in front to avoid rear ending the other vehicle. Took vehicle to aamco as our ford dealership is deplorable, aamco could not detect any defects. Vehicle has 19,000 miles and is still under factory warranty. |
