| Description of the problem | Tl*the contact owns a 2006 mercury monterey. While driving low speeds, the vehicle would decelerate and shut off. The contact had to restart the vehicle from the middle of the road. Once restarted, the vehicle functions properly. When the failure occurs, the advance track abs light illuminates. She took the vehicle to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure. Ford sent an engineer to the dealer and he retro fitted something to the steering wheel to block light from affecting the sensors. The remedy has not corrected the failure. The failure has occurred five times and the vehicle has been taken to the dealer four times. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 8,000 and current mileage was 10,300. |
