| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2005 mercury monteray. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked when he pressed the button on the key fob to open the rear liftgate. Once the liftgate was completely opened for a few moments, it slammed shut. The contact stated that since the failure, the liftgate would no longer remain open. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. An authorized dealer was notified and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 06v069000 (structure:body:hatchback/liftgate).
