| Description of the problem | On july 23th 2010, i was driving my 2005 mercury monterey up an incline then all of a sudden the vehicle went to a brief acceleration. I let go of the acceleration pedal , then went to accelerate again, i had no power. The engine would rev but it was not engaged to the transmission. Luckily i was a able to coast down the hill and pull off to a safe spot. I had the vehicle towed and was told the transmission had went. I had the ford dealership install a new transmission in the vehicle. The vehicle had 55,000 miles on it. The vehicle before then showed no signs of transmission trouble. After further research i noticed there has been multiple complaints regarding the same issue. |
