| Description of the problem | 2005 mercury monterey van... Transmission failed driving away from stop sign, no power to wheels. The transmission fluid was changed 6 weeks ago during normal fluid maintenance. Mostly highway miles since taking ownership. Car had to be towed to ford dealer. They have just called and said transmission has no pressure & needs a new torque converter & seal kit. Bought this car w/ 8400 miles and now has only 53,000 in 4 years with regular service and oil changes. Estimated repair time 2 days @ approx. $ 1020. 00. |
