| Description of the problem | Driving car at 65 mph down highway and transmission lost all power. Coasted to a stop on busy highway while on vacation with entire family and dog in vehicle 200 miles from home. Engine was still running fine but car would not move when shifting transmission through all gears including reverse. Vehicle was towed to a ford dealership and they diagnosed problem as a failed transmission torque converter. There was absolutely no indication prior to the failure that there was any problem with the transmission. |
