Description of the problem	During a wintery morning i had to apply the brakes and the abs light came on for a few seconds and then went off. Braking was only normal not urgent or anything like that. Afterwards the break pedal travel has increased significantly and have become spongy. Braking distance has increased dramatically. Safety is a big issue here because after doing a little research i've learned that this is actually becoming a typical issue for anyone who owns this car or a ford fusion. My local repair shop told me that it is probably the hydraulic control module which is part of the abs system and sure enough i believe they are correct. I called the dealer i purchased the car from and parts and labor come to about $1,700. 00!!! This part should not fail and if it does a recall needs to be issued because i know i'm not the only one with this complaint.
