| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2010 mercury milan. The contact stated that the check fuel warning indicator illuminated and there was an abnormal fuel odor. The vehicle was taken to auto zone were it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was also taken to the quirk ford dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel filler neck would need to be replaced. A year prior to the failures, the vehicle was taken to be repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was inspected and found to have no leaks. The software was updated. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 125,000. |
