Description of the problem	My wife and i had returned to the car after shopping. I started the car and drove to the first stop sign. We were on city streets in the town of nashville indiana. The car was normal. I went to the next stop sign and the car also acted normal. As i approached the third stop sign and was applying the brake the car started accelerating. The loud engine noise was also noticed by my wife. I said something is wrong with the car, the engine is racing all by itself while i am trying to brake the vehicle. The vehicle was trying to move so i had to put extreme pressure on the brake pedal i looked at the engine rpm to see what was taking place and the reading was close to 3000 rpm. I held my foot very firmly on the brake pedal and took the transmission out of gear and shut the car off.
