| Description of the problem | I understand there is a preliminary investigation concerning braking systems in ford fusion and mercury milan models from the years 2007 to 2009. I have a 2009 mercury milan. Twice in as many months, my brakes "go soft" after driving over a rough patch of road (that needs to be resurfaced), requiring substantial pressure on the brake pedal to slow and come to a stop. The "soft" brakes last several days after each incident, requiring us to pump the brakes to get them to engage more quickly. Even after the brakes seem to "recover," they take more pressure to engage than before the incidents occurred (and is more noticeable after driving our 2010 ford escape, where the brakes engage easily). |
